We have been applying shifting techniques in the construction of viaducts and tunnels since the 1960s. We therefore have extensive expertise in this area. At a very early stage, we think along with the client about advantageous alternatives, planning and safety, support structures and the use of equipment.
Bridge decks and tunnel sections are built right next to their ultimate position, and shifted into that position during a road or railway shutdown. The advantage of this working method is that railway or traffic operations are only briefly interrupted. This is why shifting is increasingly preferred over traditional construction methods.
